Disappointment Aug 08, 2010 OK, I'll admit I failed to do any research before selecting this product and the purchase was a spur of the moment buy. But I was hopeful the projector would be a great addition to my ipad and iphone. I travel a lot and hoped the projector would provide a means to enjoy the movies on my ipad and iphone. The documentation was nonexistent but fortunately anyone with a bit of geek in them can easily figure out the connections. For my needs, the unit came with all the appropriate cables, which was a plus in my book. As was the size, battery life, and overall easy of hook up. However, from there my opinion went down. An hour after getting the unit back to my hotel, I set the projector up, hooked in my ipad and charged the unit for about an hour and then hit the power button. The focus wheel left much to be desired. While I had the unit on my desk, a small tripod would have been perfect and would have allowed me to adjust the focus without shifting the picture. I immediately noticed every movie and music video I selected was dark. I turned off every light in the room and still the picture remained dark. I bright button would have been perfect. The small speaker was ok, if I was sitting next to the unit, but sitting on the couch the sound was terrible.
I also tried out the VGA to AV Converter and found the system worthless. I use a mac and the laptop does not have a vga port - so everything went back into the box.
I gave the projector a fair test, played with it for several hours; projected images at various distances, had different lighting and in the end I was disappointed. In the end, I really felt the unit failed to meet my expectations so everything is going back.

It's nifty Aug 02, 2010 This is a really cool gadget.
While certainly not a replacement for the standard office or travel projector, it actually does a really great job of throwing a decent job throwing an image on the wall.
Its primary use is as an entertainment device. It connects to my iphone and ipad, right out of the box and though the documentation is VERY skimpy, almost anyone should be able to figure out what plugs into what. The first time you play a video off your iphone or show photos, people will gasp. And the device's coolest design feature is that it articulates 90 degrees to watch videos on the ceiling.
Overall, it's cool for what it is. I love mine.

Couldn't be happier Jul 12, 2010 I read the reviews of the Cinemin projector and found several rated it with only 1 star. I almost didn't buy it and am really glad I did. The resolution is excellent, and I have found it to show good picures in a dim environment rather than needing a very dark room like several of the reviews said. I just returned from a plane trip from Dallas to Baltimore and watched a video on the back of the seat in front of me. On the return trip I had a bulkhead seat and projected the image on the bulkhead. Several window shades were up and I had no problems seeing even the darker scenes of the movie. My only problem was the people who kept stopping to ask me questions about it. I had a couple of business associates join me in my hotel room and we watched a video together from my iPhone. One left saying he was going to buy one as soon as he returned home from the business trip we were on. I don't think you would be unhappy owning the Cinemin.

good size Jun 26, 2010 I got this mainly used with my iphone for a short video presentation. Plays well when the room is completely dark. Its built-in speaker is not loud enough, my iphone's speaker volume is even louder than that, but I can't use my iphone's speaker once connected with projector. As a result, I'm getting an extra portable speaker to be used with the projector.

It's like a netbook compared to a full size laptop Apr 18, 2010 Yes, this is basically a toy, but it's exactly what I expected. I just wanted something compact to show pictures and video from my iphone and still camera. My husband was interested in a projector that a friend had but that one cost $1,000. This is something fun that we will use once in a while. Whenever I take pictures or video of my nieces they want to see themselves immediately and this makes them feel like movie stars. Yes, the room does have to be dark and you might have to buy some additional cords, if you want something for business purposes then you need something more heavy duty and with more features. This projector like going to a drive in movie as opposed to a theater, the picture is always a little washed out. It also reminds me of trying to decide on a new laptop. If you want one that's very compact then you might have to carry an external DVD player with you sometimes depending on what you're doing and you give up memory and processor speed.
