5simple and easy  Jul 05, 2010
Very good product, pretty much plug-n-play. I could find out things around house that were sucking power for no reason. There is a portal to submit and share such readings at [...]. I encourage people to check it out.

4power hungry devices beware  Jun 17, 2010
This perform as advertised. You plug it in, push a few buttons and it'll tell you how much juice the device(s) are sucking up. Whether it's a single item or a surge suppressor, it'll tell you all the consumption details you need. Plug in the cost per kWh and you've got the total cost per the elapsed time. Calculations are there if needed as well to calculate day, month costs.

As other reviews had mentioned the small text is hard to read without proper lighting and angle. You can get used to the pattern so there would be no need to look at the small text once you get used to it.

4Electricity Usage Monitor  Jun 07, 2010
Very easy to use. We needed this for a portable AC Unit that is required in the building we are leasing from so they can keep track of how many units we are using for extra cooling in our server room. Haven't had any issues (had it for a month now).

4Great eye opener into power utilization  Jun 01, 2010
I'm really enjoying my new Kill A Watt monitor because for the first time I can see exactly where and how I'm utilizing power in my house and make a direct correlation back to my monthly bill. The monitor is very easy to setup as well as to move from outlet to outlet in the house. The only thing that's a little bit of a pain is that for some reason it's very difficult to unplug a plug from it. These really should be given out for free from all power companies because it's such an invaluable tool. Now I know exactly what I need to do in order to bring down my power bill. Love it!

5Kill Some Watts  May 30, 2010
This is a great little product for understanding energy consumption in your home or office. Compare how much a 60 Watt incandecent bulb vs a equivalent brightness CFL bulb uses. Perform an energy analysis on your refrigerator and see what it is costing you per year, month, week, day to run it. Would a new refrigerator be a good investment? Find out which devices in your home are consuming power even when they are off. Plug it into your entertainment center and see how much it costs to run your TV, DVD player, stereo surround system and playstation for a year. Compare the energy used by a laptop vs a desktop computer. The P3 Kill A Watt meter will pay for itself in energy savings.

Tip: To make life easier use the P3 Kill A Watt meter with a 10 or 15 foot extension cord of appropriate gauge for the device being monitored. This makes it easier to read during the monitoring period.

Cannot monitor 240 volt devices with this unit. Use TED - The Energy Detective - [...] to monitor your whole house and determine what your larger appliances such as your water heater, furnace, and dryer are using.
