Excellent tool Sep 05, 2010 It works very well, and doesn't get hot when I charge it. It can take care my hair perfectly. There are 9 choices of trimming level and it is enough, no need for too many choices like the other brands that can have as many as 14 levels. The shortcoming of this tool may be that it doesn't care where the cut hair should go. Many of the hair get stuck between the internal parts.
Great little trimmer! Aug 29, 2010 I had one like it for 5 years before the battery died. This model is the same except for a couple of more attachments. I paid less money for this one and am very happy with the performance. For me, it cuts nice and clean with no 'pulls' or 'snags' and it fits the hand very nicely. It was a GREAT DEAL for the price that I paid. Could not beat it! There are more fancy ones out there but you won't find a better value.
Great product for the price! Aug 11, 2010 I decided to try growing a small beard, so I bought a $10 Wahl beard trimmer. I liked how the beard was looking and decided to upgrade to something rechargeable. I downgraded my Wahl to manscape and got this because it had a lot more features.
I've had this product for 2 months and this is what I can say so far.
Battery - Great life. About 40 minutes of life per 10 hour charge. Not a problem if you can time your days properly. You CANNOT plug the unit in and shave if there is no energy in the battery which is a feature that would have been nice to have.
Trimmer - There are actually two trimmers. One is wider than the other and the smaller trimmer is supposed to be for fine details. The trimmer attachments only clip on to the wider trimmer! I personally use the wide trimmer with the trimmer attachment then pop off the wide trimmer with the attachment and put the thinner attachment on for detail spots (it's quicker than taking the trimmer attachment on and off).
The blades seem to be of good quality and claim that they don't need oil or sharpening. They are easy on the skin (unlike a previous Remington unit that cut me without attachments).
Trimmer Attachments - There is a hair clipper and a beard trimmer attachment. Again, they attach to the big trimmer only. I enjoy how the beard trimmer has a tension which hugs your face on the various curves. You can adjust the length easily. People claim that this breaks easily; while the design could have been better, only a great force of pushing the unit to your face will cause it to break. And if it does break, a simple examination of how the attachment works, a paper clip, and super glue will fix it. Again, this product is $16, don't expect titanium components. I haven't used the hair clippers yet, but i'm sure the battery will last long enough for a good cut.
The Foil Shaver Attachment - It hurts me and i have to go over a spot several times because it is so small. I just use the smaller trimmer and leave it or use my other shaver or razor.
Nose/Eyebrow Trimmer - OW! This tends to pull a lot. My $10 Wahl trimmer came with nose trimmer and it worked a lot better.
Stand/Brush - Good. Sleek looking.
You get so much for the price. Amazing. The broken trimmer attachment seems easily fixable. Only $16. I Highly Recommend this.
220 V Adaptor Aug 09, 2010 It is an excellent product. On the minus side is the absence of uni volt adaptor for charging the rechargeable battery. Would appreciate assistance for buying 220 V adaptor for use in India
Better performance than I expected...so far. Aug 08, 2010 Well, I would not normally order a cordless trimmer (nothing quite like shaving your head, battery dying halfway though, LOL) But a friend suggested it, so I went along. I have pretty thick hair, and my beard was pretty heavy when I received this, but it arrived in perfect shape and fully charged, and I went ahead and used it right away. I used the attachment with the flexible guard to shorten up the hair on my head, then proceed to go shorter to just stubble on my head, then trimmed and shaved my beard with the shaver attachment. All on one charge. Took about a half hour, so I was pretty shocked. I find I actually like it not having a wire to get in the way, or make me have to stay a certain distance from the receptacle. Head attachment swaps are easy as pie, and so is cleanup with the included brush.
Pros: Wireless; ease of use; easy of head change, powerful
Cons: I have a gut feeling the NiCd (or NiMh, not sure) batteries will wear out over time.
Hopefully by the time the NiCd/NiMh batteries where out, I'll have saved money on barbershop head-shaves.
I recommend this product!
(BTWE, please pardon my spelling/grammer, it's early morning for me and I haven't had my coffee yet. :P
