UNprofessional Vibrating, Shining Blue Light Water Shaker... Apr 11, 2010 Fell for the 'sales pitch'... should have known better... My cat does a better job of cleaning jewelry when she's sleeping on top of it!! Apart from wasting electricity for a cute blue light, and making some ants think there's a minor earth tremor, the unit doesn't do ANYTHING to even remotely take away the matt finish, that shows up over time, from any kind of metal!!
The old fashioned way of a polishing cloth has much better results AND saves you money in the process.... which you can then use to buy more jewelry! ;-)

Not crazy about it. Feb 06, 2010 It's easy to use and relatively inexpensive but it doesn't get my jewelry very clean. I still have to use a brush to get my rings super clean and sparkling.

Would purchase it for another gift. Jan 09, 2010 I love this jewelry cleaner. I purchased one for a gift and one for myself and love it. Not only does my jewelry sparkle like new, I love cleaning my glasses with it.

Fantastic Dec 28, 2009 As I've gotten older, I've acquired more jewelry and realized most of it would benefit from a cleaning every few weeks. This seemed like it wasn't huge, so it won't take up an absurd amount of counter space(especially since we don't have any in our bathroom). I personally think it's the perfect size. You don't have to clump your jewelry together, it does have some room to spread out, but its not freakishly large either. Very quiet and runs its own 3 minute cycle. 2 buttons on it: on and off, so it won't confuse anyone with too many choices.
I got jewelry cleaner specially made for ultra sonic cleaners and together they make my jewelry shine! I won't leave it plugged in, because its got a little blue light that stays on, needlessly sucking power. But otherwise, I love it! Definitely a great buy for just about anyone.

Great, but can be damaged by alcohol Nov 02, 2009 This ultrasonic cleaner is a bargain, but beware that the window in the plastic lid is made of a kind of plastic that can be damaged by alcohol. If you are just using soapy water as your cleaning bath, this will be no problem. I sometimes clean small electronic circuit boards in alcohol, and the vapors cause thousands of tiny inner-surface crazes in the top window of this unit. Also, if you touch the inside of the lid window after cleaning with alcohol, you will find the surface of the plastic is softened by the vapors. It re-hardens as the alcohol evaporates out of the plastic, and this alcohol softening of the top window has not been a problem for me. The inner basket is not alcohol soluble, so that works fine and that's all that functionally matters.
