Love, love, love it! Jun 16, 2010 I was so surprised to see anything less than a five-star rating for this toy. It is so much fun for about 2+ and has withstood some pretty "vigorous" use by my 2 y/o son. We've had it about 6 mos. now and it's one of the few things neither my son nor I have gotten bored of yet. HIGHLY recommend.
great toy; could use some quality control Feb 11, 2010 My four-year-old daughter loves this toy. She carried the little monkey around with her for a week, and we had a lot of fun playing the game. It was a favorite for a good solid week, and I'm sure we'll get it out from time to time in the future. However, I guarantee that the pegs holding the animals onto the green bases will break. They are the slenderest little pins. The toy still works without them, but the bases really should have been part of the animals. Also, the one we got for Christmas did not work. The giraffe unit wouldn't recognize the animals, so we had to exchange it.
I have seen photos online of an earlier version of the game in which the bases *were* part of the animals. If they returned to that design, this toy would be a solid 4 all the way across.
Good buy Feb 07, 2010 My 2 year old loves this toy. He laughs as he runs around finding the correct animals. Not only is it educational but it can be good excersise too!

Autism Feb 03, 2010 The world of autism remains an inexact science.
Doctors, therapists, teachers, and parents working together through different therapy modalities to move the child slowly out of their hazy world into ours.
There are many different educational toys to help the special needs child develop various skills progress in their therapy. And we all scramble to see which are those special therapy toys that are proven winners.
Some fall flat while others prove to be of great benefit. This 'toy' has proven to be extemely beneficial with our young child. We have had it for 7 months. She has grown with it and because of it. It has a number of different difficulty settings. It holds her attention well. Develops cause-effect reasoning. Character identification. Memory development. Hand-eye coordination.
I cannot speak to the complaints of peg breakage because our unit has stood up to her pounding. But that does appear to be a real issue.
But I can highly recommend this product for your special needs child.
Fun, but not durable at all... Feb 01, 2010 Well, I went ahead and purchased this toy even with the sketchy reviews because it looked cute and fun. We're sick of being cooped up inside, and this seemed promising for burning off energy. :) My daughter is also fairly careful with her toys, so I didn't really think the issue with the bases would be a big deal. WRONG!! Haha...within fifteen minutes of having this toy, the tiger is already off of his base, and it's just a matter of time until the other animals follow suit. The peg that holds the animals on is pathetically weak.
Tim will tell, but the Wild Planet customer service rep I talked with was very helpful. She is sending out a new tiger (the peg broke off inside him) and some extra bases as well. She said to allow 2 weeks for delivery, so I will have to figure out some glue or something to hold him on in the mean time. My daughter was pretty excited to play with this, so I can't really just put it away until it comes.
The idea behind this game is great. It's fun and cute, but I'm with other reviewers that I have no idea how this toy made it into production with the pathetic pegs/bases. With a little redesign, this toy could be outstanding.
